Date Due

For non-Reserve items, date due is the date printed on the check-out receipt (unless item is recalled) or displayed on your SAGE record. Non-reserve items may be renewed if no "hold" or "recall" has been placed on them by another patron.

Time Due

For Reserve items, time due is a specific time/date that is printed on the check-out receipt or displayed on your SAGE record. These may not be renewed.

Renewal of Checked-Out Items

Checked-out items may be renewed if no other patron has placed a hold/recall on them. Renewal time is identical to the original check-out time (i.e. 28 day loans are renewed for another 28 days) . Renewed items are also subject to recall by other library users. Prospector items may be renewed once. Renewals may be done online by accessing your patron record or by calling the front desk at (970) 491-1842.

Can't Find a Library Item?

If you cannot find an item where you expect it on the shelves, use our SOS (Shop on Sage) service and we will locate the item for you and have it ready for pickup at the front desk. If the item is checked out, you may either recall the item or check its availability on Prospector.

Due Dates & Our "No Fines" Policy

Due dates for checked out library items are provided on a printed receipt. These dates may also be confirmed online using the library catalog or by calling the Loan & Reserve desk at (970) 491-1842. Most library items have a no-fines policy for short-term overdue, but we strongly encourage renewing or returning items before they become overdue. Charges will be assessed for overdue Course Reserve materials at the rate of $5.00 per-item for the first hour overdue and then $2.50 per-item per-hour thereafter up to a maximum charge of $25.00. In addition, charges will be assessed for overdue Recalls at the same rate ($5.00 first day, $2.50 thereafter up to a maximum charge of $25.00) on a per-item per-day basis.  Borrowing privileges are blocked if a recalled item is overdue. Materials over 45 days overdue will have replacement and billing fees assessed.
