The core mission of Colorado State University Libraries is to connect the campus to a world of knowledge-high quality, up-to-date information resources that advance learning and accelerate research. The Collection Enhancement Fund supports the purchase of materials-especially books-to support the academic and research needs of the entire campus, especially undergraduates.
Each year, faculty across campus work with library faculty to compile a list of additional resource needs to form the basis for proposals. The annual need to fulfill these resource requests is $500,000. This year, the Libraries hopes to raise $100,000 to meet the expanding needs of CSU faculty and students.
In order to maintain a level of excellence in each field of study, University Libraries needs to build collections that represent the diversity and depth of topics explored at CSU. The Libraries has established an endowed fund for each college to purchase materials with the specific needs of each discipline in mind. The endowments principle remains invested helping future CSU students and faculty, while the earned interest can be used to purchase materials to support immediate needs.
